General Information

All countries require a veterinarian to examine dogs and cat (and ferrets) before they visit and certify that their rabies vaccination is up to date. Some countries  require proof that rabies vaccination has produced protection or ask for blood tests for certain infectious diseases, or treatment for parasites before travel. All commercial airlines ask you for proof that your pet is “Fit to Travel”.

Please remember that while Stephen, Adam and Bruce are Official Veterinarians, and may legally sign and stamp official health documents,  we are not pet travel brokers. Each country has its own import requirements and these often change. Airlines, ferries, train companies and other carriers have their own rules and regulations. We are here to help but it is your responsibility to contact the country you are travelling to, find out what that country’s import requirements are, then tell us what we can do for you.

For existing clients, please complete the appropriate questionnaire for travel to the EU, North America or the Rest of the World. Please use the surname we have in our records.

If you are NOT an existing client but would like us to arrange your pet’s travel documents, please register your pet first. We will get back to you to coordinate how we can help you.

TRAVEL TO THE EU AND ITS ASSOCIATED ‘LISTED’ COUNTRIES

Your dog or cat must be microchipped and its rabies inoculation valid for your both your outbound and return trips. We can provide you with the EU-required Animal Health Certificate (AHC) which must be issued within 10 days of your pet’s outbound journey. To apply for an AHC please click here. The fee is £232.00 for the first animal and £75 for each additional animal and covers reviewing the documentation, seeking further clarification, applying for the AHC and completing it as well as your pet’s visit to us for its microchip and health check. f you need an AHC very urgently we can provide one with a sliding additional charge of 10 percent each day up to a 100 percent surcharge for an AHC completed the day before travel.

TRAVEL TO THE UNITED STATES

All States require up to date rabies inoculations and Hawaii has particularly stringent regulations. Please ensure your pet’s rabies inoculation conforms to what is required in the State you are landing in.

Your airline will ask for  ‘Fit To Fly’ Veterinary Health Certificate, between one and 10 days before your flight. Please check this time window with the airline you are using. Our fee for an examination and certificate is £116.00.  To apply for a fit to fly certificate please click here.

TRAVEL TO THE REST OF THE WORLD INCLUDING CANADA

Animal import regulations vary enormously from country to country and are always changing. Virtually all ask for a completed Export Health Certificate (EHC).  For more information please click here.

The fee for an EHC is a minimum of £350.00 per pet. This covers reviewing the documentation, seeking further clarification, applying for the EHC and completing it, and your pet’s visit to us, microchip and health check. Please apply at least 10 days before travel. For applications less than 10 days before travel there is an urgency surcharge of 10 percent each day up to a 100 percent surcharge for documents completed the day before travel.

To apply for an EHC please click here.

(If we did not vaccinate your pet against rabies we need information directly from your vet about the vaccine manufacturer, batch number and expiry date, date of vaccination and duration of immunity.)

PLEASE NOTE

Stephen Warren, OV, prepares all EHCs at the clinic. If Stephen is away we cannot prepare an EHC for you but we will direct you to an OV who can.

I can’t recommend London Vet Clinic enough! I relocated my 10 year old Miniature Schnauzer from the US to UK with a newly discovered medical condition. Helen was our angel and cured our sweet Penny of her condition and other consequent complications with medication. The team of vets at London Vet Clinic are truly the best in their field and really care about the animals they treat. The office staff is also lovely to work with which really eases the stress of scheduling and speaking with the vets.

Amazing Service. I knew my dog Bella was in the safest hands with Vet Jo. Such a friendly and experienced team. Would highly recommend this clinic. They are the perfect example of how a vet clinic should be, showing pets care and affection while reassuring pet owners in the process. 5 Stars for the team and Dr Jo!

Near Marylebone Station it’s pretty easy to find or they can provide scratch cards for parking if you drive. Its a very clean, bright and friendly place. All receptionist and nurses are extremely friendly, helpful and accomodating. In my experience Doctors are very knowledgeable and honest they will answer all your questions and explain everything in detail till you understand. Observe and examine your dog. My dog unfortunately had a tumor removal. They looked after him well with care and love. Dr. Ciara was very understanding towards our worries and saved our dog. Cannot thank them enough for this. Care will be ongoing but I am confident we found the best place.

Only been a few times but have been so pleased with how nice the staff is. They really love our dog and Dr. Fogle really knows his stuff. I immediately felt very comfortable with him and I’m very picky about who I let prod my pup!
