At the London Vet Clinic, our resident dogs are an important part of daily life in the clinic. Friendly and sociable, they help create a calm, welcoming atmosphere for visiting pets and their owners, often greeting clients and enjoying gentle play and interaction with each other throughout the day.
At home, the team’s cats enjoy a quieter life, providing companionship and comfort away from the clinic environment.
Plum & Honey
Plum, 12 years old is a daughter of the Fogle’s previous golden retriever Bean. (Bean was named after the outdoor outfitters LLBean.)
Honey, almost 2 years old, is Bean’s granddaughter (courtesy of Plum’s brother Monty).
Honey is named after the golden retriever that introduced Bruce to his wife Julia over 56 years ago.
Plum is named after the wild plums on Little Wormwood Scrubs.
Otter
Minature Longhaired Dachshund
A new addition to Amanda’s current menagerie, Otter is a 7-month-old miniature longhaired dachshund who loves commuting from Surrey by train to join her at work for playdates with Bodie and Pepa. At home, he enjoys spending time with his feline friends Mango and Onyx, Amanda’s two cats. In his spare time, he can often be found running around with his squeaky mouse and enjoying plenty of cuddles.
Bodie
Cross Breed
Bodie is a rescue from Serbia that Adam adopted from a good friend at his previous clinic. Bodie is recognised for his waggy tail and endless appetite. During lunch time at the clinic he can be found at the feet of anyone which is enjoying a nice meal.
in his spare time Bodie enjoys making new friends on the train, chasing squirrels and finding a nice sunny spot to lie in.
Pepa
Jack Russell / Chihuahua
Pepa is Paloma’s Chihuahua&Jack Russell cross who bounced into her life completely unexpectedly, and promptly took over her heart and that of everyone at the London Vet Clinic where she visits frequently.
She’s playful, cheeky, and full of personality, making friends wherever she goes. Pepa loves people, dogs of every size, and gets on brilliantly with Simba, Paloma’s cat, who has become her favourite feline companion.
A regular at the local park, she’s already something of a celebrity thanks to her boundless enthusiasm and excellent ball chasing skills. She’ll happily bring the ball back too, provided she’s paid in treats! When she’s not out charming everyone, she’s usually perfecting her other favourite hobby: chewing anything she can get her paws on.
Small dog, big character, endless entertainment.
Willow
Australian Labradoodle
Willow is a three-year-old Australian Labradoodle owned by Angela. She loves nothing more than cuddles and playing with her many tennis balls.
She lives on a lovely farm in Devon, where she has plenty to keep her entertained. Willow shares her home with two cats, Spuddy and Lobster, and enjoys their company.
She also loves long walks on the beach and across the fields, where she can run, explore, and take in all the sights and smells of the countryside.
Ted, Nim & Sidda
Lagotto Romagnolo
Ted, Nim and Sidda live on the Welsh Border with their servant, Jen. They no longer attend dogs shows but all did very well at Crufts over the years.
Now they lounge about whilst Jen works and then demand long walks in the surrounding countryside. Rumour has it they will soon be joined by a Standard Poodle pup…
Simba
Domestic Shorthair
Simba is Paloma’s much loved senior cat, rescued as a tiny kitten and ever since the quiet king of the house.
His favourite pastimes include winding up the cat two doors down, supervising the neighbourhood through the front door, and charming visitors into stopping for a quick cuddle. At home, he’s endlessly patient with young Pepa and her puppy antics, as long as she remembers that his food bowl is strictly off-limits!
In Winter, Simba can usually be found tucked away under the blankets on the bed, while in summer he’s happiest snoozing in the shade of a flower pot in the garden.
These days, his hunting adventures are mostly behind him, but he’s discovered that a comfortable nap, a bit of neighbourhood gossip, and keeping the household in order are just as rewarding. After all, every king deserves a quieter retirement
Onyx & Mango
Domestic Shorthair & Longhair
Onyx and Mango are great friends and both rescue cats who came into Amanda’s previous veterinary practice as stray kittens.
Mango is a sweet tortoiseshell with a personality more like a dog. She loves chasing Otter around, playing games, and curling up for a cuddle with Onyx.
Onyx is a beautiful long-haired cat who is gentle, shy, and incredibly affectionate. He loves nothing more than a quiet cuddle and spending time with his best friend, Mango.
Victor, Toby, Nigel & Albert
Tortoise Family
These four shelled characters belong to Amanda and each has their own unique personality.
Victor, a Hermann’s tortoise, has been with Amanda since 2007. He was soon joined by Toby, a Horsfield’s tortoise, followed by Albert, a Leopard tortoise. The newest member of the family is Nigel, a Sulcata tortoise.
Although Nigel is currently the smallest of the group, he certainly won’t stay that way! Sulcata tortoises are the third-largest tortoise species in the world and can grow to weigh over 90 kg and reach 75–80 cm in length. Amanda often jokes that Nigel will eventually become the family’s “guard dog”!
