Our Testimonials

Excellent veterinary clinic – moved to the area in October and registered my cat then. Everyone (receptionist, nurses and vets) are very friendly, helpful and considerate. All the questions are answered with care and they’re great with follow-ups as well. Highly recommend! Also, Bruce’s book is a great read – really shows how the world of pets has changed from the 1970s!

My dog is quite anxious, and taking him to the vet can be so frustrating as he won’t let anyone touch / examine him. Natalia has been so amazing with him, I feel so lucky to have found her. She really cares about him and thinks ahead of how to accommodate him and support him when he is sick. She is always extremely responsive and thinks outside the box when needed. Having a rescue dog can be so scary from time to time and I can’t stress enough how grateful I am to have her as my dog’s vet.

Chop is our English Bulldog and she is quite lazy, but she is always enthusiastic to come along to see everyone at The London Veterinary Medicine Clinic as they are all so kind and make anything she needs doing an easy task. The Clinic keeps us informed of all the things we need to do to keep our dog healthy and when, in the past, she has had medical procedures, talk us through the options best for her. Thank you for your help!

Bruce Fogle and his team are amazing vets. Have been able to diagnose even esoteric problems like our Westie who delveloped tremors (temporarily) after eating ivy…. and providing very compassionate care when we have had to say good bye to our beloved friend. Absolutely the best.

Only been a few times but have been so pleased with how nice the staff is. They really love our dog and Dr. Fogle really knows his stuff. I immediately felt very comfortable with him and I’m very picky about who I let prod my pup!

The clinic is very caring and accommodating from the vets to the reception team. Today, they saw us on very short notice after our dog was poorly overnight. The care and attention is excellent and genuine. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our dog.

Amanda Haynes RVN, CC, RAMA CAM/AVM

Clinic Manager

Amanda Haynes is York Street’s invaluable ‘mother hen’ with over 25 years’ experience in veterinary clinics. She progressed from being an RVN (Registered Veterinary Nurse), to Head RVN and Staff Assessor to Manager of an independent vet practice, and still found time to acquire a husband, numerous four legged companions and participate in animal charity fund raising events such as sky diving and wing walking. And zip off to Peru and walk the Inca Trail!
Before she joined the London Vet Clinic, Amanda worked for five years for corporate vet clinic companies. It’s our good fortune that Amanda chose to return to the independent clinic sector and provide her wealth of knowledge and experience to us. As well as a husband and a son Atlas, Amanda lives with three cats (Nero, Onyx and Mango), four tortoises (Toby, Victor, Albert and Nigel), a bearded dragon called Mushu, an Axolotl called Winston, and numerous fish.  The most common sentence we use with each other at York Street is “Ask Amanda.”.

Vicky Cross RVN BSc (Zoology) MSc (Clinical Animal Behaviour)

Registered Veterinary Nurse,
Clinical Animal Behaviourist

Vicky, who you meet as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in Nurses Consults,- giving injections, cleaning ears, cutting overgrown nails – trained as a nurse in rural Scotland but possesses a fascinating range of additional unique skills and qualifications. If we set aside her enjoyment of free-diving or her skills as a seal trainer or even her BSc in Zoology, Vicky is also one of the very few RVNs with a Masters degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour. (We are sure that the London Vet Clinic is the only primary care clinic in the UK with two people, Vicky and Natalia, with MScs in Clinical Animal Behaviour.)

Vicky’s MSc was achieved at the University of Edinburgh. Her special interest is feline behaviour and Vicky sees all new kittens that come to York Street. Her other clinical interests include pain management and laboratory diagnostics. She is an Elite Fear Free Certified Vet Professional. Originally from Greece and with a background in human healthcare Vicky also has experience – you guessed it –  in surveying bat populations and  owl management!

Jessica Sproate RVN BSc (Hons) PgCertAVN (Anaesthesia & Analgesia)

Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

Most of you are familiar with Jessica, York Street’s Head Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) who has been here since 2018. But did you know that as well as being a BSc (Hons) Jess also has a Post Graduate Certificate from the University of London in Advanced Veterinary Nursing in Anaesthesia and Analgesia (PgCertAVN)?

To gain this advanced qualification, as well as her responsibilities here, Jess worked for 18 months with a team at the Queen Mother Hospital at the Royal Veterinary College getting hands-on experience with challenging anaesthesias.  She completed written assignments and exams. Jess applies her advanced skills at York Street during routine and higher-risk anaesthetias. Her rescue Jack Russell / Chihuahua Poppy, is our honorary sixth veterinary nurse.

Sophie Atkinson RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Like so many others who choose to become qualified veterinary nurses, Sophie’s career began elsewhere, in her specific circumstances in travel and marketing in her native Australia. The need for more fulfilling days brought Sophie to London, into the veterinary world and after completing her RVN (Registered Veterinary Nursing) qualification and gaining local experience working in north London, happily to us here at York Street. Sophie brings her fresh, positive, Australian attitude to caring for you and your pets. Her add-on love of baking means that the humans and canines at the London Vet Clinic are eager to see her each morning. (We have shared one of her Treats for Dogs recipes in our monthly newsletters

Angela Topping
G&G Cert SAC NVQ Level 2 Veterinary Nursing, Cert Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostics

Veterinary Nurse / Office Coordinator

When Angela, her husband Fraser and daughter Evie moved to Devon in 2023 we knew we had to find a way for her to continue to be part of the York Street team. Angela had worked at the clinic for almost 20 years sharing theatre prep and operation responsibilities with the other nurses. She knows in tiny detail not just how everything works but who everyone is.

Her home in Devon is isolated but with the help of a Starlink satellite dish Ang continues in real time to be part of the London Vet Clinic, speaking with you on the telephone, answering your emails and speaking with her colleagues in reception many times each day. Ang is no longer actively involved in field hockey but her naturally up-beat personality  continues to be a wonderful asset to the team.

Jenny Ward RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse / Office Coordinator

When you speak with Jenny on the telephone you may think she’s in her 20s but Jen has been part of the London Veterinary Clinic since the mid 1970’s. She was one of the first fully qualified RVNs, (Registered Veterinary Nurses). When she lived in Holland Park it was easy for her to get to York Street each day, bring her Italian Spinones with her.  Marriage and daughters followed, and her family moved to Hereford on the Welsh border but Jen continued to be part of the team, participated by telephone and post, completing admin work and insurance claims. She still does but with much better technology. Jenny is probably more knowledgeable about pet insurance than the insurers themselves. After almost 50 years with the London Vet Clinic Jen continues to help you with any questions you have.
