Bruce, a Canadian graduate, came to London in 1970 to work at Regent's Park Zoo - and stayed. (He still lives with the reason he stayed.) After working in Knightsbridge for CE Woodrow and Brian Singleton, the Founder and third President respectively of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, Bruce opened his own clinic in 1973. In 1980, he and his colleagues Keith Butt, Andrew Carmichael and Michael Gordon created the first Emergency Veterinary Clinic in the UK, on Elizabeth Street, SW1.  As well as his charitable activities Bruce is on of the Editorial Board of Canine Genetics & Epidemiology, an open access journal. Bruce has three children, Ben, a writer and broadcaster (www.benfogle.com),Tamara, a London-based handbag designer and maker (www.tamarafogle.com) and Emily, a graphic designer.
